All exhibitors  and their fitters, agents, or other representatives agree to abide by  the following rules and regulations. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PART I<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\tThe following practices or procedures are prohibited in the context of any registered dairy cattle show:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>misrepresenting the age or ownership of an animal;<\/li><li>filling an animal\u2019s rumen unnaturally with liquid [tubing];<\/li><li>balancing the udder by any means other than by leaving naturally produced milk in any or all quarters;<\/li><li>treating the udder internally with an irritant, counter\u00adirritant, or  any other substance to temporarily improve conformation or produce  unnatural animation;<\/li><li> treating the udder externally with an irritant, counter\u00adirritant, or  any other substance to temporarily improve conformation or produce  unnatural animation (Allowable practices\/substances include sealing and  setting teats, and the use of external anti-inflammatory substances for  the well-being of the animal.);<\/li><li>roping udders and the use of objects to physically improve definition of the suspensory center ligament;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>administering epidural anaesthesia [blocking tails] and\/or applying  any irritant either externally or internally to the perineal [rectum and  vagina] area;<\/li><li>inserting foreign material\/articles under the skin, into the topline or on the feet  (Administration of acceptable medications, and false switches and tails  is permitted.); <\/li><li>performing surgery of any kind to change the natural contour of  appearance of the animal&#8217;s body, hide or hair. Not included is the  removal of warts, teats and horns, clipping and dressing of hair and  trimming of hooves; <\/li><li>criticizing or interfering with the judge, show management or other  exhibitors while in the show ring; as well as any conduct that violates,  directly or indirectly, recognized standard show practices, or any  other discreditable conduct that could damage the image of the breed or  show; <\/li><li>wrapping hocks or draining fluid from hocks unless authorized by a veterinarian appointed by the show management.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PART II<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All exhibitors and their fitters, agents or other representatives agree to abide by the following procedures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Exhibitors, agents, employees or other person acting on behalf of an  exhibitor, shall deliver to an inspector upon request any hypodermic  syringe, needle or other device, swabs, cloths or other material, or  samples or any medicine, preparation or substance, whether in liquid or  other form, for the purposes of laboratory analysis.<\/li><li>All entries and personal property of the exhibitors, their servants  and agents and persons acting on behalf of exhibitors, are subject to  inspection by inspectors authorized by a show.\u00a0 All such persons shall  co\u00adoperate with the inspectors and shall provide all such information in  connection with such inspections and shall provide access to the animal  and all information reasonably required by inspectors in connection  with such inspections and shall provide, if so requested, samples of  urine, milk, blood, or any other body fluids suitable for analysis.<\/li><li>Exhibitors shall remove any udder supports, blankets or other objects  limiting the ability of the inspector to undertake a thorough  inspection.<\/li><li>The exhibitor agrees to act at all times in accordance with the Rules  and Regulations for Showing Dairy Cattle and the Standard Procedures,  and shall accept any final decision made thereunder.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Violators are subject to the disciplinary provisions of the Standard  Procedures and Penalties for Enforcing Rules and Regulations for Showing  Dairy Cattle, and\/or any other show rules and regulations which can be  obtained on request and are accessible, notably, on the following Web  sites: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.holsteinquebec.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.holsteinquebec.com<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.expoduquebec.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.expoduquebec.com<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cqrl.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.cqrl.org<\/a>.<br> <br>Updated 8 May 2006<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SHOWING DAIRY CATTLE The following rules support good animal husbandry practices [&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn-secondary understrap-read-more-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ayrshire-canada.com\/en\/services\/shows\/code-of-ethics\/\">Read More&#8230;<span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> from Code of Ethics<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":1622,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"advgb_blocks_editor_width":"","advgb_blocks_columns_visual_guide":"","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-1624","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.0 -
