The Master Breeder\naward is the highest award from Ayrshire\nCanada. It is awarded to breeders\nwho produce cattle that excel for both\nconformation and production. It takes\nyears of successful breeding to achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Master Breeder\nAward is presented to purebred Ayrshire breeders\nthat fulfilling all Award\nrequirements. The Master Breeder Award\ncan be received once every ten (10)\nyears.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In order to be\neligible, the animals must bear\nthe prefix of the applicant\nand be purebred as per Ayrshire\nCanada\u2019s Bylaws (Female\n87,5% or greater,\nMale 93,75% or greater). Animals must also meet\nboth production and type requirements among the seven\n(7) <\/strong>categories listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The applicant must be a member\nin good\nstanding of the Ayrshire\nBreeders\u2019 Association\nof Canada and must supply to the Ayrshire Canada\nAssociation a list of the\nanimals bred by him\/her\nand\nwhich have completed at least\none publishable lactation in the last ten (10) <\/strong>years, and which meet\nthe requirements\nof at least\none\nof the seven (7) <\/strong>categories listed. The\napplicant must also supply a\ncopy of the herd\u2019s annual report issued by a milk recording\nagency for the last four\n(4) <\/strong>years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A cow\nclassified Excellent <\/strong>with\nminimal EBV\u2019s of 350 for\nmilk, 15 for fat and 12\nfor protein.\n(1 point)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n OR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A cow\nclassified Very Good <\/strong>with minimal EBV\u2019s of 450 for milk,\n20\nfor fat and 15 for\nprotein. (1 point)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A cow classified Good Plus 83 -84 <\/strong>with minimal EBV\u2019s of 550 for milk, 25 for fat and 20 for protein.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0(1 point)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A cow with\na production seal of 60,000 kg\n(1 point), 70,000 kg (2 points),\n80,000 kg (3 points)\n90,000 kg (4 points), 100,000 kg\n(5 points).\nEvery additional 10,000\nkg of milk will earn 1 point.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, if\na cow presenting such lifetime\nproduction is classified\nExcellent she earns 3 additional\npoints<\/strong>. If a cow is classified Very Good, she earns\n2 additional points.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ex: A cow classified Excellent\nwith a lifetime production\nof\n60,000 kg of milk\nis awarded\n4 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In order to earn\nthe Master Breeder Award, the number of points earned\nmust be higher or equal\nto 80%\n<\/strong>of the average number of cows\nincluded in the rolling herd average\nin the official program of a\nrecognized milk recording agency over the\nlast four (4) <\/strong>years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A minimum of 35<\/strong> points\n<\/strong>is required to obtain\na Master Breeder Award<\/p>\n\n\n\n To be eligible for the Award an animal\nmust have completed one publishable\nlactation over the last ten\n(10) <\/strong>years, where the national\nbreed\u2019s average is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\nCATEGORIES:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
