Ferme Hautpré

2004

Do you know what has been the preferred subject of discussion of your Association and Christopher Studer over the past few years?  If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s probably because you don’t breed Ayrshires. Of course, I’m referring to our Young sire Proving Program.   Our next Superior Breeder understood this principle a long time ago, and more importantly, he applied it.  With a YSSP participation of close to 40% per year, it is not surprising to see the farm in 4th position of the best herds in Canada for LPI.  I can’t confirm that the young sires have a word to say on production, but the farm has had one of the best ten herd averages in Canada for nearly 20 years.   As it happens, it’s a young sire daughter who contributed half the point required by this breeder to be awarded this prestigious title.  Hautpre Producer’s Dahlia, along with her three daughters by Charlot, accomplished the feat. Furthermore, one of these cows had her name printed in the record book recently.  Daliga produced 16 768 kg of milk as a 4 year old. She therefore becomes the cow with the greatest quantity of milk produced in 305 days in Canada.   Ayrshire Canada is pleased to award the title of Superior Breeder to Mr. Denis Masse for his exceptional contribution to the Canadian Ayrshire breed over the last 10 years.
