Ferme Mont Comi

The Mont Comi prefix, accomplished a feat worth mentioning.  In fact, the farm receives the prestigious title of Master Breeder for the animals bred by Mr. Marius Fournier and also those bred by Ferme Mont Comi.   It was in 1970 that the first purebred Ayrshire animals appeared at Ferme Mont Comi.  At the time, emphasis was placed mainly on selection of animals with high production. Since the ends of the 80’s, the farm selects more for conformation.   The Mont Comi herd was built mainly around four cows; Mont Comi Corona Andreanne, Mont Comi Mozart Zygote, Des Deux Lacs Mozart Belinka and finally, Sup Ayr Gen Jade Ydole.  Many descendants of these cows are now the pride and joy of farm owners.   The Fournier’s are very involved in their environment.  Marius and Marie-Ange were very involved in the Bas St-Laurent Ayrshire Club and the UPA.  Denis is Vice-President of the Bas St-Laurent Ayrshire Club and President of the regional CAB.  Gilles is the Sales Manager for the Club. In addition to all these activities, the Fournier family works hard each day to optimize the whole herd’s potential.
